Chefs and fine dining in Ischia
Three Michelin stars on an island eleven kilometres long, and a pizza maker Forbes ranked among the best in Italy: Ischia's food scene plays in a league that surprises those who
Ischia has three starred restaurants in the Michelin Guide Italia — an achievement few territories as small as the island can claim. But Ischia's food scene isn't limited to the stars: there's also a local pizza maker who made it among the best in Italy, and a new project that brings them both together.
Danì Maison, two stars and a single island
Nino Di Costanzo is the island's only two-Michelin-star chef. His Danì Maison, set among the hills of a quiet residential area, has just six tables and sixteen covers, with the open kitchen part of the experience. The cuisine is conceptual and technically rigorous, capable of surprising visually too — in 2026 the restaurant confirmed its Three Forks from Gambero Rosso and a score of 94 on La Liste.
Umberto a Mare, Forio's new star
In Forio, Umberto a Mare entered the 2026 Michelin Guide with its first star: a seafood cuisine built on the territory and local catch, one of the most significant new entries for the island in the latest edition.
Il Mosaico, the third star
At the Terme Manzi Hotel & SPA in Casamicciola, Il Mosaico completes the island's starred trio with a Mediterranean cuisine with a Campania touch, selected ingredients and a contemporary register.
Ivano Veccia, the pizza maker who doesn't need a star
Ivano Veccia was born and raised on the island, learned Neapolitan pizza-making between Piacenza, Milan and London before returning to Ischia. In 2026 Forbes Italia included him among the thirty-five Pizza Masters of Italy. Together with Nino Di Costanzo and Venetian entrepreneur Federico de Majo, he opened Lisola, in Forio: a project that for the first time brings together the island's two-star chef and one of its best pizza makers under the same roof.
