How much a holiday in Ischia costs: the real 2026 prices
A week in a hotel ranges from €385 to €1,869 per person: what really changes between one period and another, with the numbers from our rate cards.
A week in Ischia in a hotel costs between €385 and €1,869 per person, depending on the period, the property and the board. The median of our offers is €735. The variable that matters most isn't the hotel — it's the week you choose.
A week: from €385 to €1,869 per person
Let's start with the number that really matters. On the seven-night offers currently active in our catalogue, the price per person ranges from €385 to €1,869. The median is €735: half the offers cost less than this figure, half more.
It's a wide range, and the reason is simple: it covers both a three-star in October and a charming boutique property at Ferragosto (mid-August). These aren't "from" prices built to attract clicks, but the ones we negotiate directly with the properties and that you'll find published on the active offers, dates included.
The period weighs more than the hotel
Here's how the price of a week per person changes depending on when you travel, based on our actual rate card offers:
- July — from €455 to €1,635, median €798
- Ferragosto (9-29 August) — from €560 to €1,869, median €1,008
- Late August — from €490 to €1,635, median €840
- September — from €455 to €1,309, median €749
- Late September — from €406 to €770, median €599
- October — from €385 to €1,029, median €581
- Late October — from €399 to €539, median €413
Between the Ferragosto median and the late October median there's a €595 per-person difference: almost 60 per cent. For a couple that means around €1,200 on the same holiday, with the same sea and the same thermal water.
The same hotel, two different prices
The most honest comparison isn't between different hotels, but between the same property at two different times of year. A few examples from our rate card:
- Hotel Albatros (Forio), half board: €399 in late October, €1,290 at Ferragosto
- Hotel Terme Principe (Lacco Ameno), half board: €406 in late September, €840 at Ferragosto
- Hotel Cleopatra (Ischia Porto), breakfast: €385 in October, €560 at Ferragosto
Same property, same board: only the week changes. That's why, if your dates are flexible, shifting by even just ten days is worth more than any negotiation on price.
And if you don't have a full week
Not all offers require seven nights. On shorter stays, our rate card moves as follows, still per person:
- 2 nights — from €110 to €160
- 3 nights — from €201 to €649
- 5 nights — from €314 to €1,014
Short stays are the choice of those living nearby who come off-season: Ischia is reachable from Naples in about fifty minutes by hydrofoil, so an island weekend is realistic even leaving on a Friday afternoon.
Half board or breakfast only?
On seven-night offers, the difference between the two boards is smaller than you'd think: the median for half board is €714, for bed and breakfast €749. Bed and breakfast isn't automatically cheaper, because it depends on the category of property offering it.
Off-season, half board is almost always the better deal: from October, several restaurants on the island reduce their hours or close, and having dinner included avoids having to go out in the evening. In peak summer, if you're staying in the centre and want to try the local restaurants, breakfast only makes more sense.
What isn't included in the hotel price
The hotel price is the main item but not the only one. Also to be considered separately:
- The sea crossing from Naples or Pozzuoli, which varies by company, season and vessel. If you prefer, we can include it in the package: just let us know in your request. You'll find the full picture in our guide on how to get to Ischia.
- The tourist tax, paid at the property and set by the municipalities.
- Hotel extras: sea-view room, single use of a double, a cot. These are listed as supplements in each offer, with no surprises on arrival.
- External thermal parks, like Giardini Poseidon or Negombo, which have their own ticket. Note, though: many of the properties we select already have an indoor thermal pool, in which case it's included in the stay. You'll find them collected among the hotels with thermal spas.
Where you really save
Setting promotions aside, there are three levers that move the final bill.
Shifting the dates. This is by far the most effective: as the numbers above show, the same property can cost half as much just by changing the period. If your holiday dates are fixed, even just avoiding the 9-29 August window makes a clear difference.
Travelling in a larger group. Reductions for a third and fourth bed are real, and at some properties reach 50 per cent for children, with the youngest often free in their parents' bed. These are hotel-specific conditions, listed on each property page: we've collected them on the Ischia for families page.
Choosing the right area. Not all areas have the same average price. Ischia Porto and Casamicciola concentrate the most accessible thermal properties, while the Forio resorts with private beach sit in the higher bracket. The guide to the six towns helps you understand which area matches your kind of holiday.
A note on the prices in this article
The figures in this article come from the offers actually published on our site and negotiated directly with the hoteliers: they're per-person prices for the whole stay, not nightly rates multiplied out. They don't represent a market average for the island, but our own rate card, which we update every season. For real availability on your dates, a check is still needed: request a quote and we'll reply within 24 hours, with no online payment and no obligation.
